March 2022 Vigil

The March ICOM vigil will be held at 8:45 am at the Sherburne County Government Center (13880 Business Ctr Dr NW, Elk River) in support of a presentation that our sister organization Sanctuary and Resistance to Injustice (SARI) will be making at the Sherburne County Board meeting asking for them to end their contract with ICE to hold immigrant detainees at the Sherburne County Jail.  We will hold vigil outside to support those speaking inside with prayer, song, statements by religious leaders, and stories from those directly impacted.  Join us and help make joyous noise that both the county commissioners and immigrant detainees can hear!  For those who can’t join in person, we will also be streaming the event live on the ICOM facebook page.

For those interested in being part of a carpool, please reach out to joynelson92@yahoo.com.

Speakers will include: Reverend Shari Prestemon, United Church of Christ, Greg King of Interfaith Coalition of Immigration, Bishop Craig Loya, Episcopal Church of MN, Rabbi Jill Krimmings, Bet Shalom, Kateri Mancini, Catholic Charities for the Diocese of St. Cloud, Father Tony, Catholic priest, retired, Detainees released from ICE detention

Please bring five friends, banners with the name of your faith community and signs demanding ICE OUT OF SHERBURNE COUNTY.

We hope to see you there!
