COVID-19 will prevent us from holding this event on April 7, as originally planned, but you can rest assured we will be going back to the Sherburne County Board as soon as we can.
The Sherburne County jail and the Sheriff’s Office and ICE are collaborating closely on separating immigrant families and using draconian punishment on detainees. Like other ICE jails, the Sherburne County jail routinely uses solitary confinement for the most minor of offenses, even putting people with mental illness in solitary confinement for extended periods of time.
When we reschedule, you’ll be invited to join with SARI for a day of reflection, planning and action. We will begin by packing the Sherburne County Board meeting, followed by education and strategic planning. We will first meet at Union Congregational Church, 1118 4th St. NW, Elk River.
